My two children have featured in numerous of my paintings. There was a time when many artists kept motherhood hidden, for fear of not being taken seriously, that they couldn’t do both. In my case the opposite is true, my two have not hindered, but inspired me. These works reflect that bittersweet moment where childhood ends and the teenage years begin, faces caught in shadow or turned away, seemingly looking to their unknowable future.
