In this collection of paintings Hoogeweegen uses flowers, food and landscape as a tool to focus on experimenting in the use of paint, mark making and composition. She is trying to push abstraction to that tipping point where you almost lose knowledge of the subject, most evident in ‘Last summer rose’ and ‘Fried egg’ and ‘Burger’.
