In this series Hoogeweegen depicts nature and our engagement with it.

The endangered environment is the inescapable subject of our imminent future. Even as the works blur into abstraction, these depictions of landscapes and nature evoke particular emotions. Hoogeweegen captures the powerful particularities of places on the cusp of change, that will no longer be the same. In these works she witnesses the ephemeral nature of flowers, a sunset dip in a lake and snow melting in a forest; these images reflect our visceral and emotional engagement with the phenomenon of nature.
